January 14
The Old Lincoln Courthouse and Museum will host a speaker, Professor Robert
Bruno, at the Beardstown Houston Memorial Library at 2 p.m. Professor
Bruno’s topic will be “Workplace to Ballot Box”, in conjunction with the
Smithsonian Museum’s traveling exhibit.
January 21
The Virginia Christian Women's Fellowship will meet Saturday, January 21, at 9
a.m. at City Hall. All women in the community are invited to attend.
January 21 and 22
Whether you are looking to remodel, renovate, repair or just shop, make
plans to attend the 2012 Prestige Communications Home and Lifestyle Show,
Saturday, Jan. 21 from 9 until 5 and Sunday, Jan. 22 from 11 until 4, at Western
Hall, West University Drive, Macomb.
January 23-28
The Beardstown High School FCCLA is needing Prom dresses, shoes, and accessories
for their Boutique consignment shop. They will be accepting dresses, shoes and
accessories until Jan. 18, (please call to make arrangements if you can not make
the deadline). The Shop will be open from January 23-28 from 3:30-5 p.m. Mon-Fri
and 12-3 p.m. on Saturday. The Prom Dress Boutique consignment will be held in
the BHS hospitality room—across from the high school gymnasium.

MacMurray College will hold an Adult Degree Completion Program informational
meeting on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 10 a.m. at the Beardstown Public Library.
Interested adults may learn more about how they can finish their degree and
still work! No RSVP is required but for more information call 479-7116 or visit

February 10
The Beardstown Chamber of Commerce will be having a tax assistance program
for low-income residents of Beardstown who cannot afford professional help.
Appointments will be made for Friday, Feb. 10 and Thursday, Feb. 23rd from 8
a.m. to noon and again on Friday, March 9 from 8 a.m. to noon. Appointments may
only be made by calling the Chamber of Commerce at 323-3271 to determine if you
meet the criteria.

Beardstown Mainstreet will holds it’s annual River Rats Golf Classic.
