Francis Arenz, a native of Prussia, founded Arenzville, Illinois. He came to the United States in 1827, was a leader at heart, a businessman, farmer, and had a love for politics.

Ken Bradbury Although Arenzville is a very small village, it's a very strong farming community, it has wonderful school district, well noted for the Arenzville Burgoo, and we also have some authors: Ken Bradbury and Deb Burrus. Ken Bradury, a teacher at Triopia High School for 34 years, is a resident of Arenzville, Illinois. Our other author, Deb Burrus, has written some Christian books associated with Explorer's Bible Study.
